THE COMPETITION
GROUP KARAOKE
The HBCU SOUND HOUSE competition begins in YOUR school. Once the tour bus pulls up, the Dj & band set up, it’s on! The battle starts with an internal school showdown with 4 teams of five. Teams will battle 2 at a time tournament style until one winning team is left standing.
Upon arrival, the DJ will give the Karaoke theme: example 90’s, then each team will select their 10 songs to battle the other team with, and each round will alternate. Song selection, performance & creativity are KEY!
Our judges are 3 pre-selected faculty members & the crowd! (Apollo style) — Once the champion is chosen, that group is entered into the national championship, where they will meet in the tournament to face off against the best from every HBCU for a chance to win, 10k a piece Cash, and a full years scholarship!
